Have your marketing efforts made you “blue?”

In today’s rapidly changing world of marketing, it seems as though it’s nearly impossible to keep up with the latest trends. One could spend literally every working hour of every day trying to market their business, and leave no time for actual business.  But if you ignore your marketing efforts, you won’t have any business.

There's a lot that goes into marketing...
There’s a lot that goes into marketing…

Herein lines the conundrum. How does a modern-day small business owner market their business effectively while still having time to do their business?

It’s actually quite simple. Hire someone to do it!

(insert shrieking sounds, scoffs, and dirty looks)

Yes folks. It’s really that simple. Marketing nowadays is so much more than putting up a sign and launching a quick website. It’s more than just logos and “having” a Facebook page.  It’s more than Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc, etc, etc…

Simply having one of these (or all of these) present in the modern world doesn’t guarantee you marketing success. You need expert advice so that you can free up your brain power and your workday to tend to your real business.

This is where Blue Dog Marketing steps in. Blue Dog Marketing is the brainchild of Mary Sperr and Laurie Enos. They’re a local marketing company that was formed by two women (and most importantly friends) that saw a need for that “special touch” that truly small and medium sized business owners are looking for.  Big agencies call for big bucks, and Blue Dog understands that.  You too can have professional advice and guidance at a price point that won’t bankrupt you. In fact, their goal is to make you more money!

When asked why they started, their response was “because we love what we do, we’re passionate about it!” To Sperr and Enos, every day at work is time spent with friends, not just “clients.”  Their goal in 2014 is to help as many small businesses as they can to grow their business.

Their current and past clients include publishers, cleaners, manufacturing companies, hotels, and travel agencies to name a few.  They’ve helped design logos, draft press releases, freshen up websites, and create business cards.

Thinking outside the box, one of their most recent projects includes working with a local client in helping them design new menus for their restaurant.

So what’s with the name? It’s definitely unique.  When asked about it, Mary said that it is their most asked question. When Laurie had sent her a list of potential names for their new company, she saw Blue Dog (versus any other color of dog) and had that “Aha!” moment. She also says that blue is tied in with trust, which is very important to them.

So if it has marketing tied to it, these ladies do it!  Their energy (and there’s TONS of energy), passion, and excitement to watch their clients succeed is quite obvious from the first time you meet them.
