It’s true of people and of a beautiful gem in our city called “Craft Company No. 6”, located in the Neighborhood of the Arts on 785 University Avenue, Rochester, NY 14607. The Popoli Real Estate Team is so proud to partner with this company as our featured business of the month. It truly was love at first sight for us when we walked through these doors. It’s actually hard to find the right term to describe Craft Company No. 6. Some may say it is a gift shop? Actually, it’s more of a gallery of hand crafted goodness from all over the United States and Canada and the good news is you get to buy the items and bring them home! This store has been in business since 1980. Current owner (since February of 2014), Kathleen Verzillo, truly has a passion for American Artisan Gifts and hence promoting local and national artists. One of her greatest joys is the relationships the company has built with the artists. In fact, over 100 of them, just from the Rochester area, are represented here. What talent we have in our own backyard!
And that talent makes beautiful treasures that will not only make the perfect holiday gift this season, but will delight future generations. This is the stuff that family heirlooms are made of my friends. Each display of gifts is its own work of art and despite so many offerings, the gallery has a beautiful, open feel. There is a sense of “welcome” from the moment you walk in the door.
